ARMED video case study launched at Social Work Scotland

The Social Work Scotland Annual Conference & Exhibition 2018 was the perfect platform for the launch of a new video case study showing ARMED in action at Loreburn Housing Association.

Social Work Scotland Annual Conference & Exhibition 2018 took place in June. The annual event tied in with the 50th anniversary of the Social Work Scotland Act, providing a reason to celebrate and reflect on the journey so far.

The two-day event hosted many workshops around the theme of ‘Confidence, Commitment and Collaboration’ to share best-practice ideas and to discuss just how far the profession has come, the many changes that have been experienced and more importantly where things will go next?

Brian Brown, Director of ARMED, held a workshop on ‘Giving People Confidence’, where he launched a video case study alongside Moira Charters from Loreburn Housing Association. Loreburn are the first social housing in Scotland to adopt ARMED (Advanced Risk Modelling for Early Detection) solution to help identify those at risk of falling.

Moira Charters, Head of Improvement and Innovation said:  “We are delighted to be the first housing association in Scotland to make this commitment to prevention. The ARMED solution has huge and exciting potential to enhance the health, well-being and independence of our customers.” Moira can be seen in the video below, alongside Loreburn customers, explaining how the combination of wearable technology and health and social care data are providing new insights and peace of mind. The ARMED solution uses sophisticated predictive analytics modelling developed with Edinburgh Napier University.
